Barcelona

How much does a trip to Barcelona cost?

The bill for our Barcelona itinerary: 4 days, balanced pace, two adults. Line by line, with entry prices.

€125-175 per person / day

per person, per day

Over 4 days, for two people: €1.000–1.400

What it is made of

Per person, per day: accommodation €70-100 (shared double in the Eixample or the centre), meals €35-50 (menú del migdia at lunch, tapas or a taverna at night), transport €2.50-5 (2-4 rides with the T-casual), entries €15-25 on average — they weigh more here than elsewhere: Sagrada Família ~€26, Park Güell ~€10, Casa Batlló ~€29, La Pedrera ~€28. The honest trick is to pick ONE modernist house to see inside and enjoy the others from the street. Total €125-175: solidly in the comfort range, realistic for Barcelona if you book everything in advance.

Where to stay, and what it costs

  • 3-4 star hotel in the Eixample between Plaça de Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia — double €140-200 per night: metro everywhere, boulevard Gaudí on foot and the old town ten minutes away
  • B&B or guesthouse in the Born or the Gòtic — €110-160 per night: lanes, tapas and life on your doorstep, with the odd noisy evening in exchange

This is the bill for OUR itinerary, not “how much Barcelona costs”. Stay in a hostel or eat once a day and you will spend far less; want a hotel in the centre and it is far more. Entry prices are the ones stated in the itinerary: check them before you go, they change.
